About Me
Growing up in a small midwest town surrounded by Amish community (where the closest movie theater was nearly an hour away), I dreamed of building my own escape. This dream entrenched my life path, and my passion.
Building Roblox minigames evolved into making modded Black Ops 3 zombies maps, which then evolved into Unity VR development for the Oculus Rift CV1, and most recently culminated with helping build Marathon at Bungie. Creating digital worlds and giving people an escape from their everyday lives has always been what drives me; writing code is just my way of tinkering with legos as an adult, and it happens to be what I'm good at.
At Bungie, I became fortunate enough to proudly work on Marathon as a Game Services Engineer, architecting and building a net-new Entitlements tracking system, as well as modernizing their other commerce services: Catalog and Commercialization. Holistically, this involved every backend service responsible for supporting a players cosmetic journey: purchasing a product from a platform (e.g. Steam, Microsoft, PlayStation), shopping the in-game storefront, purchasing microtransactions in-game, and unlocking earnable cosmetics in-game.
